Omar Adel

Omar is a multidisciplinary artist and cultural practitioner, working across video, sound, photography, design, coding, and performative instances. Their expansive artistic practices investigate the complex entanglement between human cognition, constructed environments, and technology; while addressing themes concerning time, space, memory, reality, human error, AI, language use, and power. You might know Omar as the co-founder and creative director of Tara al Bahr, an online platform that dealt with cultural and artistic practices and contemporary urban changes in Alexandria, or as the former creative director of Behna (el wekalah) - a hybrid art space for traditional and unconventional cinema, contemporary art practice, and alternative education in Alexandria.
