Panel talk: From the homeland to the screen: Exploring trauma, guilt and visual journalism 

In this session, Dr Romy Gad el Rab and Sarah-Grace Mankarious will explore the influence of the screen on concepts of guilt, trauma and visual journalism on us as diaspora. Specialized in the effects of digital technology on our mental health, Dr Romy el Rab will share her reflection on dealing with feelings of guilt and trauma triggered by interactions on the screen. The talk will be followed by a conversation with Sarah-Grace Mankarious that will reflect on these topics through her experience as senior visual editor at CNN where she creates digital storytelling experiences.
