Panel talk: The radical act of staying and leaving 

A whole emotional landscape unfolds unknown to others except for the diasporic, mapped with back and forth hesitations and calculations on leaving, staying, and returning (if and when possible). Nabil Canaan is the co-founder of STATION arts platform, director of its cultural center in Beirut and the producer of its international projects amongst many other things. STATION programs contemporary visual and live arts from SWANA, with a curatorial focus on socially-engaged projects. He will share his experience leaving Lebanon in times of war, growing up in the diaspora reality and returning many years later to bring arts, civic engagement and international conversations together.
